At Tools for Peace we believe that mindfulness and compassion go hand in hand with social justice and that positive change begins within ourselves and our institutions. We are in the process of assessing our organizational policies and focusing on Equity and Inclusion.
Our social equity action plan:
Build a diverse Board of Advisors
Work with an experienced consultant, in dialogue with staff, to create an organization-wide policy and training protocol focusing on Equity and Inclusion
Grow a diverse facilitation team
Have advisors experienced in Equity and Inclusion review our curriculum so that we can implement appropriate changes to increase its relevance and sensitivity to the changing needs of our students
