(Literacy, Arts, Culture, Education, Recreation), an afterschool program operating in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). In partnership with L.A.C.E.R. and the aforementioned schools, we offer weekly Tools for Peace clubs on multiple campuses, where students engage with the TFP curriculum, participate in meditation and mindfulness activities, art, music, writing, community outreach projects, and yoga. We also conduct weekly guest sessions at L.A.C.E.R. with sports teams, Homework Club, etc., to help with team building and academic success. Our mindfulness-based social-emotional learning programs support mental health, academic and professional success, and community health and wellbeing. Studies show that the Tools for Peace curriculum improves focus, conflict resolution skills, and confidence, and reduces stress in participants. who we serve Through our School-Based Programs, Summer Teen Camp, and Compassionate Leadership Program, we serve 1,500 elementary through high school students in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) each year. The majority of LAUSD students (74%) identify as Latino, and 60% of LAUSD students come from families earning less than $40,000 per year.
