Tools For Peace Camp is for teens 12-16. It’s a unique chance for teens to take a one-week breather from every-day life, and a starting point to creating peace in themselves, their school, their community, and the world.
TFP campers learn about peace by creating a personal Mandala. Mandalas are found in many cultures as a representation of a harmonious universe. Tools For Peace uses the blueprint of the Shi-tro Mandala, an ancient Tibetan symbol because it represents peaceful existence
and can help us conceptualize harmony within ourselves and our world.
Each day at camp also includes activities like music, horseback riding, art, swimming, basketball, hiking, tai chi, and yoga. Evening activities include basketball, karaoke, movies, and campfires.
TFP Camp is located in the Tehachapi Mountains, 90 minutes north of Los Angeles. Teens stay in cabins and tents (separate for boys and girls) with Peer Mentors, former campers who are 18-21. Teens work with a diverse staff of trained youth facilitators, camp counselors, professional artists and musicians, and Tibetan Lamas. Find out more about the Tools For Peace Team.
TFP Camp gives teens new ways of facing challenges, understanding other people, and understanding themselves. Check out what past campers have to say, and check out photos of past camps below!
