“This experience in general is like one of the most amazing things I’ve done in my life.
Like, yeah,
I’ve volunteered, but this really showed me what I want to do, what I want to be,
and how
I can get there. You never imagined you come to camp and you learn more than you ever
thought you would.”
Tools For Peace (“TFP”) is a starting point to creating peace in yourself, your family,
your school, your community and our world.
The TFP’s Annual Summer Camp is for teens 12-16, and is a unique chance
to take a one-week breather from everyday life.
At TFP Camp, you’ll learn about peace by creating a personal mandala. Mandalas are found in many
cultures
as a representation of a harmonious universe. Tools For Peace uses the blueprint of the Shi-tro Mandala,
an ancient Tibetan symbol because it represents peaceful existence and can help us conceptualize harmony
within ourselves and our world. TFP also includes activities like music, horseback riding,
swimming, sports, yoga, karaoke, and campfires. TFP Camp is an extremely special
opportunity to meet other teens from all different places, and build
deep friendships.
Every year, we also have a Spring Camp Reunion—
a chance to come back together as a
group and revisit the tools.
TFP Camp gives you new ways of
facing challenges, understanding
others, and understanding yourself.
