Shi-tro Mandala

The Tools For Peace curriculum uses the blueprint of the Shi-tro Mandala, a symbolic representation of peaceful existence that can help us conceptualize harmony within ourselves and our world.

Mandalas are found in many cultures as a representation of a harmonious universe. As a conceptual model, Mandala is applicable to any individual, or any group of people or relationships (a family, a classroom, a workplace, a community, a nation, etc.) In the simplest of terms, Mandala is a diagram of ongoing communication and interaction. This communication and interaction between all parts must be mutually supportive if the whole is to function harmoniously.

Tools for Peace participants use a blueprint of the Shi-tro Mandala as a starting point to create their own Personal Mandala that charts peace within themselves and their interactions with others.
